COST: $550

- plus $100 lodging in Sacramento

The actual cost of the event is $550 per person plus $100 total for lodging in Sacramento before and after.

Initial Payment: $225 Registration Deposit

Future Installments: Make Payment(s)

Additional: $100 Lodging in Sacramento Make Payment (Not Optional)

Conference Payment Includes:

  • 4 Nights of Lodging in Yosemite
  • 13 Meals
  • Ground Transportation
  • All Required Park Fees

Please, do not let cost be your primary consideration. The issue is first “do I need this retreat” – if the answer is yes, trust God to provide for the expense. Kidology is not budgeting any profit into this event. It is designed as a break-even event to invest deeply in a small group of children’s pastors. Many of the expenses to Kidology to create and host this event are not being included in the registration fee. It is a costly endeavor, but we are seeking to creatively keep the cost to a minimum but without sacrificing the purpose of the retreat, or the needs of the guys to have a comfortable and refreshing time. (Yes, camping would be cheaper… but this is a sabbatical, not survival training!)

Registration includes:

6 nights of lodging, transportation during the retreat, and most meals. 2 nights in Sacramento and 4 nights in Yosemite National Park. Both locations are very nice – the hotel has a pool and the lodge a hot tub. It is the break you need!

Included Meals:

Friday: No meals or lodging provided, however, a few guys come early by choice for fellowship and personal preparation.
Saturday: Guys MUST arrive by Saturday evening. While no meals are included, we go out to eat together. In-N-Out Burger is usually the “Big Event” for lunch and a restaurant such as Red Robin for dinner for those who have arrived by those meals.
Sunday: Breakfast is free at hotel; Lunch en route we will stop for Starbucks at least once, and then a very special dinner on our way into Yosemite. Attendees will each pay for their own food.
Monday-Wednesday: All meals included. There is a full kitchen at the lodge. Breakfast and dinner are at the lodge. We prepare our meals. For lunches we pack sack lunches, with a variety of delicious options.
Thursday: Breakfast at the lodge; lunch will be sack lunches in Yosemite Valley. Dinner will be fast food en route to hotel and guys will be on their own for food. Thursday evening we usually go somewhere nicer to eat, each guy on his own. (Price range: Chili’s; TGIF; TBA)
Friday: No meals provided, but breakfast is free at the hotel (fly out on Friday)

(By the way, we eat good: New York Strip Steak good, Chicken Parmesan over Spaghetti good, for example.)

Possible additional expenses:

Airfare and/or car rental to/from event. (we will have a group van during the retreat and will pick you up if you fly into Sacramento airport.)

If you are flying in, please use Sacramento International Airport (SMF). If you use Fresno, you are on your own to meet us at Lodge. If you arrive between 10am and 8pm on Saturday most likely your host will be able to pick you up. If not, SuperShuttle (800-bluevan) is under $20 to hotel.

If you drive in, (your car or rental) or choose to drive from the airport, you may arrive at the lodge anytime after 4pm, but before 7pm for orientation and our first meeting. (It is a four hour drive from SMF to the lodge) Note: While this is an option, no one has ever done it.

The registration fee, obviously, does not include any personal equipment needed for hiking in Yosemite. We need to pack light and smart, and a detailed list of what to bring (and not bring) is posted on the BRING page.
